I’ve generally been of the opinion that democracy is wasted on the general pubic. By way of proof, I give you the current ConDem “coalition” “government”, the obvious “not understanding the question” alternative vote referendum, in which the UK public failed to do so, and frankly any reality TV show.
However I’m about to disprove my theorem with these findings: on a recent stag weekend, 6 of 9 participants had a iPhone*, which as “those in the know” is crap. Except it’s not. It’s redefined phone interfaces and defined a smartphone software model. All we need now is a decent mobile network to support it.
*the others were 2 Blackberrys and a Nokia N8. Only the N8 and my iPhone 4 had network coverage on Three, no less.
